This morning the 2 train was unbearably crowded & I started feeling my blood pressure dip. I got off at 135th St to switch to the 3 train, which usually arrives practically empty since that’s the second stop downtown. As I went to sit down, I noticed the seats had been changed. They were no longer shaped to indicate individual seats. They were more like bucket seats. This is a great update, as now it can accommodate people properly. With the original seats, people were sometimes forced to skip a seat to be comfortable. Then, of course, there were the seat hogs & manspreaders, who would take up three seats.
Here’s a picture on one section on the new seats.
