Today is the first day of school in NYC. When I left my apt building, there was already bumper-to-bumper traffic on my narrow one-way street. There’s a Catholic school across the street at the end of the block. I braced myself for a delayed & crowded commute, full of obnoxious teenagers. Surprisingly, when the train arrived it wasn’t crowded (no one standing) & I snagged a seat immediately. A drastic change from yesterday’s commute. There weren’t any teenagers in my car either. It would be great if it stayed that way the whole school year!
